Does your hair feel awful? Do you blow dry, flat iron, color or hi-lite your hair too much? Here are some life saving tips to repair it. Conditioners are our friends. Learn to use them correctly and wisely. But first make sure you’re using the shampoo that is formulated for your hair type. If you color your hair use shampoo for chemical or color-treated hair. If you wash your hair everyday (you shouldn’t) or use the blow dryer or flat iron 4 or more times a week use shampoo for dry and/or damaged hair. After selecting and using the right shampoo, find a conditioner that meets your hairs needs. For instance I’ll use myself as an example. I have over-processed hair. Which means it’s been bleached, then colored. Now if you bleach and color it once it’s not necessarily “over processed” but I’ve done both more then once. So I condition with very rich, thick conditioners. The thicker then conditioner, the better your hair will feel. So before you apply the conditioner, towel blot your hair, so it can absorb as much conditioner as possible. After the conditioner is applied, let it remain in your hair for 15-20 minutes, depending on how damaged your hair is. Obviously, f your hair is in horrible condition, leave it in longer. After time is up, rinse your hair with warm water, then just as you’re about done, turn the water to ice cold. Only for a minute. The cold water seals the cuticle of your hair shaft and this makes the hair appear more shiny.

Turn frizz into shine and silk. After you get out of the shower, towel blot your hair until it stops dripping. Then you wanna take any frizz fighter (i.e. Redken Outshine or Glass). Take a dime size of the frizz fighter and a nickel size dollop of any gel and mix them in your hand then run thru your hair (try and stay away from your roots). Come thru your hair and let air dry for about a half an hour. Then finish by blow drying (followed by the flat iron, if thats what you normally do). After wards apply a dime size of any (light) oil based creme ( i.e. BedHead After-Party, this contains silicone which is great for shine) to dry hair. Be careful, because applying too much will make it feel greasy. Finish by spraying a light-weight aerosol hairspray. After spraying, let it set for a minute or 2 and then last but not least run a brush or wide tooth comb thru your locks. And it should leave you with instant shine. One last thing about finding products to help bring out the shine in your hair. Any shine product contain some kind of oil. Always use these products sparingly, because these products can weigh your hair down and make it look greasy, if you apply too much.

How to Curl the Corner of a Photo

Open your Photoshop program up. Now you will need to open the image or photo that you want to use. Click File > Open to find the photo or image that you want to use. Once you have located your photo or image click Open. Now you will see your photo in your Photoshop window.

Now you will need to unlock your background layer. If you do not see your Layers Panel, click on Window > Layers at the top of your Photoshop window. In your Layers Panel you will see a padlock on your Background Layer. You will need to unlock this layer. Double click on the padlock to unlock it. A dialog box will pop up once you double click the padlock. You can enter the name of your layer in this box or you can leave it as it is and click OK. I named mine Layer 1.

Now you will need to select your Rectangular Marquee Tool in your toolbar. The Rectangular Marquee Tool is the first icon in the toolbar. It may be a circle. If it is then hold down the circle until the box drops down and then you can select the rectangle. Now draw a rectangle in the corner of the photo that you want to curl.

Next you will need to select the Gradient Tool in your toolbar. The Gradient Tool is the square icon that fades from gray to black. In your Gradient options at the top of the window make sure that you have the white to black color selected. Now draw a line from the bottom left corner to the top right corner of your rectangle. I placed the rectangle at the bottom left of my photo.

Now you will need to Deselect your rectangle. Click Select > Deselect at the top of your Photoshop window. This will deselect your rectangle.

Click on Edit > Transform > Warp at the top of your Photoshop window. Now you will see a grid across your photo. Now you will need to drag your corner inward. If your rectangle is in the bottom left corner then drag the left corner toward the middle. Please see Image 2 for this example.

Now we will add a drop shadow to the corner to make it look more realistic. Right click on your Layer in the Layers Panel and select Blending Options from the drop down box. Click on Drop Shadow when the Blending Options dialog box appears. Enter the following in the Drop Shadow fields.

Opacity – 100%

Angle – 100

Distance – 13

Spread – 15

Size – 15

Then click OK.
